Good evening everyone, hope we all enjoyed our Chuseok holidays! I am here to talk about our Mental Health . Mental Health is about our emotional, psychological and social well-being. It affects how we think, feel and act. It control how we handle stress, relate to others and make choices. Furthermore, the past years has made a huge impact on our collective mental health. Therefore, it will take months if not years to fully recover from the pandemic, however there are somethings we can all do to help us get through these difficult times. Firstly, most people have so many things doing at the same time including work obligations, child care, social lives and household responsibilities. So when is the right time to take care of yourself? When everything else can easily prevail, you must make time to attend to your own needs. Setting work boundaries which may entail taking a mental health day every now and then is one of the best way to burnout. You must make it a habit to say "no" to things that don't serve you. Secondly, meditating daily or a few times per week can serve as a great preventive practice to control anxiety and stress. Also meditation helps to improve the heart rate variability which shows how well we handle stress. Thirdly, we tend to focus on sleep a lot because we understand how critical it is to our health both physical and mental. You can't be productive at work or school without having enough sleep. Sleep can help anxiety, depression, decision-making and cognitive performance. I hope these points helps you maintain a good mental health during this pandemic. Thank You.
