Spring in Korea is short, so you have to enjoy it while it lasts. Recently, I visited the Gangneung Namsan Cherry Blossom Festival, and it was the absolute perfect spring getaway.

The entire hillside of Namsan Park was completely covered in a stunning blanket of pink cherry blossoms. I laid out a picnic mat on the grass, totally surrounded by the blooming trees. The atmosphere was incredibly joyful and relaxed. There were live acoustic performances filling the air with soft music, and a lively row of food trucks nearby where I grabbed some delicious street food to enjoy on my mat.

Sitting there, eating good food, listening to the live music, and watching the pink petals gently fall around me like snow... it was simply beautiful. It was a perfect, unforgettable snapshot of a Korean spring.
