This year, I had the wonderful opportunity to celebrate Chuseok festival in Korea. Chuseok is one of the biggest traditional holidays in the country, similar to Thanksgiving, where families come together to share food and express gratitude to their ancestors.
During the holiday, I joined my Korean friends to experience traditional customs. We prepared and enjoyed delicious foods like songpyeon (rice cakes), bulgogi, and various fruits. I also got to wear a hanbok, which made the celebration feel even more special. It was a great chance to learn about Korean culture and understand how important family and tradition are in Korean society.
Although I missed my family in Sri Lanka, spending Chuseok in Korea made me feel warm and included. I really enjoyed the friendly atmosphere, beautiful decorations, and kind hospitality from everyone around me. This experience helped me feel more connected to Korean culture and appreciate the value of togetherness and gratitude.
