When I started learning Korean, I was full of enthusiasm, armed with language apps, textbooks, and online videos. At first, progress felt smooth—I learned the alphabet and memorized basic phrases. But soon, I hit a wall.

Without Korean friends or real conversations, my progress stalled. Speaking felt daunting, and I struggled to match the pace of native speakers or understand everyday phrases not covered in textbooks. Practicing alone made it hard to know if I was pronouncing things correctly or using words naturally.

Still, I celebrate small wins—like understanding a phrase in a K-drama or recognizing a word on the street. While I don’t have fluent conversations yet, I’ve learned to enjoy the process and embrace the mistakes.

Learning Korean has been humbling but rewarding. Though progress is slow, I’m determined to keep going, knowing each step brings me closer to connecting with the culture I admire.
