3 Heavens in Beijing

If you find yourself near the Communication University of China or in Downtown Beijing for some reason, one of the sites that I really recommend is the Temple of Heaven. From the entrance, you will be greeted by a refreshing garden after being in the city for too long, and then after some walk, you will see what seems to be a cross between a phallic and a yonic structure, since the Temple of Heaven itself is a tower but its roofs and its base are very round-shaped. While climbing it, you will see a great amount of people above and below while touching the stone railings that may have seen hundreds of years of history, and for sure, countless visitors also from different time and place. But the fun does not stop there, you can walk more and see other “Heavenly” things such as the Vault of Heaven which is like a huge temple with some dragon ornaments, and the Circular Mound which is like the circular platform of the Temple Heaven without the temple itself. By itself, I think Circular Mound is awesome because I like ancient stone structures, plus, there is a small dome in the center where people line up to stand on it and pray or take a picture. For me, as a person who plays video game extensively, I imagine it as a secret button to press or a spot where you need to perform a very specific pose and it will send some energy through the stone paths you walked earlier to the Vault of Heaven and then to the Temple of Heaven where it will shoot in the sky and maybe trigger some final boss or rewards. And if those are not enough for you, there are other sights within such place like museums or exhibitions, though I no longer explored some of them because of time constraints and the state of my feet. To end, just as in other tourist spots in China, prepare yourself with walking more than usual.
