In October 2024, I attended the Chuncheon Lifelong Learning Festival, where I had the chance to experience various climate change mitigation activities. At the "Air-Purifying Plant Hanging" booth, I learned how to improve indoor air quality by creating plant hangers, realizing that even small actions at home can contribute to environmental health. Building plastic holders for plants to purify the air was a meaningful way to learn about indoor environmental care.
The "Calligraphy Mini Eco-Bag" activity involved decorating reusable bags as an alternative to disposable plastic bags. Personalizing these bags with unique designs highlighted the ease of integrating sustainable habits into daily life, reminding me of the significance of environmental responsibility. This experience encouraged a tangible shift toward eco-friendly practices.
At the DIY phone stand booth, I assembled and painted a wooden phone holder, an exercise in creating everyday items from sustainable materials instead of single-use plastics. This simple activity underscored the impact small lifestyle changes can have on the environment, prompting reflections on personal consumption.
Lastly, the carbon neutrality booth focused on reducing carbon footprints through initiatives like using and returning reusable cups. Learning about carbon reduction strategies emphasized how small, everyday actions contribute to carbon neutrality efforts. The reusable cup initiative was an easy but meaningful habit that can extend beyond a single event, making a lasting impact on sustainable living.
These activities provided practical methods to address climate change within daily life and strengthened my awareness of environmental preservation and carbon neutrality. Through these experiences, I felt motivated to incorporate small, sustainable changes in my routine, inspired by the knowledge that even small actions can make a difference.
