Hello everyone,

As the summer season deepens, many parts of the country are experiencing a noticeable rise in both temperature and humidity. The hot and muggy weather is making daily life increasingly uncomfortable, with health experts urging people to take extra precautions to stay cool and safe. From rising temperatures to thick, heavy air, this year’s summer conditions are becoming harder to manage for many.

Meteorologists report that the current heatwave is likely to persist throughout the coming weeks. Daytime temperatures are climbing steadily, often exceeding 33°C (91°F), while high humidity levels are making it feel even hotter. In many places, the "real-feel" temperature is reaching 37°C (98°F) or higher due to the humid conditions. This combination of heat and moisture can create dangerous weather for outdoor activities and can lead to serious health concerns if people are not careful.

Experts advise the public to avoid going outside during the hottest part of the day, usually from noon to 4 p.m. If going out is necessary, people should wear lightweight, breathable clothing, apply sunscreen, and wear hats or use umbrellas for shade. Most importantly, staying hydrated is essential. Drinking water regularly, even if you don’t feel thirsty, helps the body manage heat. Avoiding alcohol, caffeine, and sugary drinks is also recommended, as these can lead to dehydration.

People without air conditioning at home are especially vulnerable during heatwaves. In such cases, it’s helpful to visit public spaces like libraries, cafes, malls, or government cooling centers, which are often open during peak heat hours. At home, using fans, opening windows during cooler evening hours, taking cold showers, and placing damp towels on your neck or forehead can help lower body temperature. It’s also a good idea to close curtains during the day to block out sunlight and keep rooms cooler.

Health professionals are particularly concerned about children, the elderly, and people with pre-existing health conditions. These groups are more likely to suffer from heat exhaustion, dehydration, or even heatstroke. Symptoms of heat-related illness include dizziness, nausea, fatigue, headache, and confusion. If anyone shows these signs, it’s important to move them to a cooler area immediately and seek medical attention if necessary.

As the hot and sticky weather continues, staying informed is key. Local authorities recommend checking weather reports daily, following emergency heat warnings, and looking out for vulnerable neighbors and pets. By being mindful and taking smart precautions, we can all get through this extreme weather safely. Summer can still be enjoyable—but only if we take care of our health and stay cool.
