This past March was definitely warmer than last year. The most obvious sign was my choice of clothing. Last year, it was too cold to get by wearing just a hoodie, but this March, a hoodie alone was enough. Rather than a major change, I gradually began to feel that I no longer needed to layer up as I usually do.

That said, I didn't really feel the warmth during my usual commute between home and Chuncheon. I've grown quite accustomed to those routes, and to be honest, I didn't pay much attention to the weather along the way. The temperature felt slightly milder than usual, but nothing that made me stop and take notice.

Seoul was different. I went up to Seoul every weekend this month and was surprised to see flowers already in bloom. The forsythia was in full bloom, bright yellow lining the streets. While this is common in late March, it felt earlier than usual. What surprised me even more were the cherry blossoms. In previous years, March meant bare branches or, at best, a few buds. But this year, by mid-March, the cherry blossoms were already in full bloom all over Seoul. To be honest, it felt a little strange — beautiful to look at, but something about the season felt a bit off, like things were moving ahead of schedule.

I haven't compared the specific temperatures between this year and last, but I could really feel the shift through the flowers. I can't predict what the rest of the year will bring — how hot the summer will get, or how cold the winter.
